What is Embedded System?

The Embedded Systems Devices are designed to replace the complexity of the computer system. And they are designed to perform a specific dedicated task. It is a combination of hardware and software. which is used to perform a specific task on a large system in the industrial machine, in the camera, in the household appliances, in industrial devices, in the traffic signals in security systems, in the barcode scanner all are possible places for an Embedded System.

Why is the Embedded System becoming so important?

Reason for the Embedded System is being so important is that each day we become more dependent on Digital Information technology & Embedded System Technology.

Nowadays everyone wants to do their job as quickly as possible and that too without any extra effort. Nowadays everyone wants to do their job by pressing a button. For example, if I press a button then the door should open or close. And also light and fan and other electrical appliances in our house should be controlled by a remote. There are many other things that prove that nowadays embedded system has become more important.

Nowadays there are limitless uses for Embedded System. The key reason for this is the invention of new products every day. Elements like microcontrollers, microprocessors, and other electronic devices have become much cheaper.

The major part of Embedded System is robotics, which explains to how to interface machinery with our software.

Applications for Embedded System?

There are numerous applications for Embedded System. example, In industrial equipment, In entertainment device, in home appliances, in banking, in the automobile sector, in finance, in the mobile phone, in computers, in medical equipment in an aerospace control system in weapons in automation, in robotics etc.

Scope in Embedded System?

Many Students are not aware of the available opportunity in the stream of Embedded System. most of the graduates prefer IT field for there good and secure career. According to me, there are 2 reasons for this. 1) Entry Barrier, 2) Lack of Awareness. During there graduation most of the students may come finding the name "Embedded Systems". But most of the students not aware of - "What is an Embedded System", "How does Embedded System Works", "What companies are into Embedded System.", "What skills I will be required to become best Embedded System Engineer" etc. But in comparison with IT, Industries students know that Google, Facebook, Microsoft are leading companies. and they also aware of smaller and medium company. And also aware of knowledge and skill required for IT Industries. Like C, C++, Java, Android, PHP, etc. For the IT industries, entry barrier is very low. Any fresher graduate having basic skill can get a job easily with decent salary package.

Do you know who all are the leading companies in Embedded Systems?

Symphony, MphasiseInfochipsInfosysTCSHCL TechnologiesWipro etc are the leading companies in Embedded Systems.

Skills required of this companies are knowledge of 1 or 2 microcontrollers like AVR, 8051, or PIC, Arduino. And sound knowledge of basic electronics and sensors, and basic knowledge of programming languages like c. This skills will help to get an entry-level job in Embedded System. After gaining much experience (maybe 2 years) of experience, you can switch to multilevel companies that to decent salary package like 4-5K/year.
